Happy Halloween

Can you believe our sweet, little angel dressed up like a witch for Halloween? It was a bit of a struggle to get her to put on the costume -- she had just woken up from a nap, and she's 2. But once she got the gist of what the night would be, and that every door she knocked on would give her candy, she had a good time. And no, that isn't Jason's normal outfit....he dressed up like a cowboy for his office festivities.

It's a BOY!!!

So, we realized that we hadn't announced our newest addition on this blog, so we thought it was probably time. We're expecting baby #2 on March 22. We just had the big ultrasound and found out it will be a boy. We're very excited, and Jason will finally have some help evening out the estrogen in the house.
Ultrasounds are so amazing! He was moving around quite a bit and then started sucking his thumb (you can see it in the top picture). He was really enjoying his thumb, so much so that we could see his little tongue moving and him swallowing. So cool!!
We're talking about the baby a lot to Ellie to prepare her as much as possible. When asked where the baby is, she'll answer, "In Mommy's tummy." But we don't think she quite grasps the concept. Case in point -- Ellie likes to climb and jump on me, but we've been telling her how gentle she needs to be because of the baby in Mommy's tummy. So, she'll then go over to Jason and climb and jump on him, then stops and asks, "Daddy, you have baby in your tummy too?"
We can't wait for the little guy to arrive, and we're sure Ellie will be a great big sister. She's very excited for the baby, and will usually say she wants to name him 'Dora' whenever she's asked. We'll add it to the name list, but I don't think it stands much of a chance.

At the Pumpkin Patch

We had such a good time at the pumpkin patch. We went on a Monday evening, so the place was pretty much deserted (which was nice since this farm is usually packed during October). The kids were able to run around and climb on anything they chose, without having to wait in lines. We bought a number of pumpkins with big plans of carving or painting. Unfortunately, neither of those things happened this year, but we still had fun and got some cute pictures.

Fun with Cousins

Our cousins from Phoenix came in for a visit at the beginning of October. Since we don't get to see them very often, we tried to squeeze in as much fun as possible while they were here. We went to the zoo, Old Iron Works day at Meramec Springs Park, the pumpkin patch, and had a get together at Granny & Papi's. Ellie is still talking about it. If it is a weekend day, and we're all heading out to do something, she'll ask, "Ian & Hannah coming too?"
